Thankful, Thankful, Thankful....

For Organ Donors.
For a choice that was made, wether after much thought was given, or at a moment when a box was checked at the DMV.... either way because of their acts lives are saved.

Lives like that of my father-in-law.
He was the recipient of a liver from a young man who passed away saturday.

My thoughts have been torn between my family and that of the man who died.
To those who are grieving and so full of sorrow. Those who are questioning why and for what reason?
Then to our family, whose prayers were answered, new hope was restored, a welcomed day.
To that young man's family I would say thank you for the gift of life you've given us, and that little baby who now holds a piece of your grandchild, son, brother, uncle, friend inside of them.
Thank you for giving a gift that there are no words to express the gratitude we feel.
And though we may never meet we will forever be grateful for the life you brought into this world that has, and will make a difference for a baby starting it's journey in life, and to a man who has traveled life's road.
He will continue to be a joy to his sons....
And a hero to his grandkids....
So may your son find peace in Heaven above and your hearts feel the gratitude and love that we have for you.
Because of you, we can enjoy a very special someone for a little bit longer on this earth.
So on this day and forever more, I will be grateful for organ donors.

Laanna, that was such a great post. I loved it. We don't always get to see that softer side of you. What a great blessing that is. I am glad that Eddie's father was able to get the transplant that he needed, hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.

Let Lanny Sr. know that we send him our best and give us an update in a few weeks about how he is recovering!
